Who We Are

Texas Public Safety Divers (TXPSD) is a proud 501(c)(3) non‑profit organization committed to excellence in public safety diving, search and rescue/recovery, and waterborne operations. We are a team of dedicated volunteer civilians - highly trained and experienced in our specialized disciplines, united by our passion to support and save lives in the water.

Our Mission is Twofold

Operational Support

We assist local, federal, and state agencies with maritime operations across Texas’ land, marine, coastal, and riverine environments. Whether it’s a high‑stakes rescue or a complex recovery operation, we are on call to deliver the best possible support.

Volunteer & Equipment Support

We back TMF operations and underfunded agency personnel by providing access to valuable training, mission‑related equipment, and funding.

Our volunteers willingly enter challenging, ever‑evolving environments that can present potentially fatal risks all to ensure that our communities receive the best service when it matters most.

Every dive is a promise to provide the highest standard of safety, expertise, and support.

Our History

Our journey has been as dynamic as the waters we navigate. With roots in military, commercial, and public safety diving, we have evolved through many identities from Amphib and SMART to the San Marcos Area Recovery Team and the South Hays Fire Department Dive Team before uniting under the banner of Texas Public Safety Divers.

This history of adaptation and excellence defines who we are today - a professional, reliable, and compassionate team committed to public safety.
